Our core principles at ADSC are to ensure
(1) All undergraduate students have the opportunity to experience creativity,
(2) University support for the promotion, funding, space, and growth of student creativity,
(3) Students are familiar, connected, and proactive about experiences in the arts and design community.
The Council is structured to focus on three areas that all students will contribute to: publicity, development, and experience and outreach.
Publicity
Our focus in Publicity serves to recognize Cal’s intellectual and artistic culture. Independently or in collaboration, students explore, connect, and amplify the lives of student artists, notable faculty, and alumni to help cultivate a creative atmosphere and presence at Cal.
Development
Our focus in Development prioritizes student input on what a creative, undergraduate education can look like. Students will work with creative and administrative staff of UC Berkeley to critically think, plan, and execute ways to enhance and promote the arts on campus.
Experience & Outreach
Art is meant to be experienced. The council is also a community that together explores artistic venues and gatherings at Cal. At the end of each experience, students share their experiences with the greater Berkeley community to uplift and spread awareness about these special moments.
